Hey J.Floss Whats up Boss?
I’m chillin man. Feeling good.
Whats life like in Brooklyn?
In my opinion Brooklyn is not as bad as people make it seem. Some of my family don’t even visit me cause they be like Brooklyn is always on the news. (Laughs) The saying is if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere so I say if you can make it in Brooklyn you can make it in New York
Explain to the readers about your movement
Well I’m apart of a production team Traxx 1st Productions and I’m their first artist. I’m also apart of the iStandard family so the combination of the two makes a great team to help me become the best artist I can possibly be.
Your mixtape just dropped, how excited are you about this?
Very excited. The fact that Coast 2 Coast is hosting it makes it that much credible. They don’t co sign everything so for them to co sign me makes me feel good about the project.
Describe to us what direction you took with this mixtape?
I wanna show the world that I can make great music. I wanted to display my song making ability because, in my opinion, a lot of underground artist don’t get enough credit for making hit records. It doesn’t matter if your underground or mainstream a hit record cannot be denied.
Congratulations on the UMA award, how did that feel?
Awww man. That was a great night. (Laughs) Winning the award was great but it makes me wanna work even harder. That was hard work paying off so I know if I stay on the right path I can achieve much more.
How is this mixtape different from you from your past work?
I definitely matured as an artist. Any body can throw bars on a beat and rap but a collection of great songs on one project takes a lot of work and creativity so I feel I definitely improved in that area from my last project.
So whats next in line for you?
Just continuing to make great music and a few videos. Its time for some more visuals of Johnnie Floss.
