M. Fuzz what’s up?
Everything is wonderful, we’re working over here!
Let the readers know your team?
Definitely…the home team is Illseed Entertainment out of Queens: CEO Gustapo, Sean Strange (No Good People/Cousin Pat Records), Bundy, and Young Jimmy T. The home base is the Cuckoo’s Nest Recording Studio in Middle Village, Queens.
Describe your beat sound?
My sound has a little bit of everything in it, really because that’s what I listened to when I was growing up. My family was always listening to Rock, and even had a Rock band of their own…so that’s with me all day. Plus of course with the Queens thing, Hip Hop is a big part of everything I do. Throw in Dance, and even the Reggae, and you get what I call “Fuzion Music”.
Describe the sound of ‘For My Generals 2.0′ ?
That project has a good blend of Pop sounds, Hard drums, and “Brass Knuckle” flow! There are some exclusive brand new joints with artists like Esso, Bizarre from D-12, JoJo Pellegrino, Lord Tariq, Agallah The Don Bishop, the NYB team (Cortez, D.Chamberz, DNA). I also did blends with verses from B.I.G., Jay-Z, Nas, Ludacris, Jadakiss, The Game, and a few more top Hip Hop artists. And I threw in some remixes of a few key joints off the first “For My Generals”.
What’s your process for making a instrumental ?
I usually make my best tracks when I don’t plan on it…like I’ll wake up in the middle of the night, or I’ll be right about to leave the crib, and something clicks so I run to the keyboard. I lay the drums, throw a few background layers, and flesh out the sequences. Then I arrange the beat in Pro Tools…the drops and the separate parts of the beat. Then premix, export, and go!
What can you compare this project too?
Honestly, I can’t think of too many producers who are trying to do what I was doing for “For My Generals”, part 1 or part 2. Putting street rappers over Pop sounds…only dude I see doing that is Timbaland.
How has your career changed since competing in the iStandard Producer Showcase?
I definitely got some good constructive criticism that day to help me along the way. Shout out to Rockwilder for seeing my vision. With trial and error, I refined my sound, my style.
What next on your plate?
A few videos from the “For My Generals 2″ project – one directed by Joe Puma, with Sean Strange, Bizarre, NEMS, and Bundy…and another that was directed by Xyayx, my “NYB” collab record with Cortez, D. Chamberz, DNA, and Willie Neutron. Once those are wrapped up, you’re gonna see me go hard in the Pop world, I got a few projects on deck so stay tuned!
Where are you online?
