Q The Prophet is a trailblazer in New York’s underground movement, and is considered to be the hardest working man in God’s business. Q hails from Brownsville-Brooklyn and has made a name for himself by touching almost every reputable show in New York, including Faces In the Crowd, The Streets Have A Voice and The Urban Threshold. You name it, and Q The Prophet has blazed the stage and has built an incredible following. Even the most critical must salute his talent.

Q The Prophet is a unique artist and a pioneer, being a Christian MC with an edge that most Christian rap artists don’t have. He caters to the streets and delivers great substance in his music that comes across almost like a sermon, but with enough swagger to keep you hooked. While so many young aspiring artists are promoting negative messages in their music, and promote poison to our children, Q has the courage to stand and deliver life through his music. His stage show is undeniable and from the first minute you know you’re in the presence of a seasoned artist and future star.

Career Track

After winning the “McDonald’s Gospelfest” in 2003, Q dropped an independent EP entitled Touch & Agree, selling over a thousand copies on his own. During this time he also fronted the powerful B.U.R.N. U Movement, which helped propel him on his way to becoming one of NY’s leading Positive MCs.

Q became widely accepted in 2006 after he was heard on DJ Kay Slay’s Mixtape Konquer The World Vol. 2, making him the first Christian MC to do so.

In 2007 Q The Prophet was named the winner of the “Underground Music Award”. Q The Prophet can also be seen on Whatz Really Hood DVD vol. 7, Whatz Really Hood vol. 9.5 and Video Music Box with his award winning music video, Momma’s Only Child; Nutritious Visions DVD Vol. 2 entitled Holy Hip-Hop — The Ministry.

Q has performed on the same stage with Ice-T, Grafh, Joell Ortiz, Jin the Asian Emcee, Lady Luck, Hezekiah Walker, Helen Baylor, Vickie Winans, Cissy Houston and Donnie McClurkin, among others. He’s also rocked nearly every Club in NYC, including Public Assembly, Sputnik, Caroline’s Comedy Club, Bowery Poetry Club, Remote Lounge, & Don Hill’s, as well as numerous out-of-state venues. Q has also appeared on various TV and radio programs.

Q The Prophet was not always involved in positivity and God. He is a former drug dealer & gang banger who gave his heart to the Lord at the age of 14. Today he is the CEO of his own independent label Prophets I Music Group Co., which was founded by himself & his partner Clever Gemz. He also serves as Youth Leader of the Bible Faith Word Cathedral in Brooklyn, NY under the leadership of Bishop/Dr Gregory A. Foster. Q is active in his community, reaching out to the youth and making a difference in their lives.
